hoarders daughter

i’m a collecter of all things narrative, a hoarder by trade and genetic inheritance, a believer in “support local”, a mostly self taught artisan who is fascinated by history and people’s stories.
my artwork forms a map of my country, my personal topography of the space i occupy.
from storyteller’s voice and landscape to narrative artworks.
my current work combines textile and printmaking and marks significant places and sacred spaces.

“Mapping Country” is my expression of a love of my surrounding physical landscape and the environmental and social history of particular, significant places within that landscape.  I aim to document places of significance and sacred spaces through my work as a visual artist.

My artistic practice is informed by the opportunity to inspire others through my work.  Each individual activity within the greater “mapping country” project is a collaborative attempt to involve local community at varying levels.

The process of involving local community in this project, I believe strengthens awareness and education of an historical place of importance within that community and builds a stronger sense of community amongst local residents.
